A Roma, la Sala Conferenze ISCR – Istituto superiore per la conservazione e il restauro – da ieri ospita un importante Convegno Internazionale sul tema “The Colours of the Prince. Conservation and Knowledge in Qusayr ‘Amra”.
L’incontro ha l’obiettivo di presentare i risultati del progetto di conservazione e restauro che l’ISCR conduce dal 2011 in collaborazione con il Dipartimento delle Antichità del Regno di Giordania (DOA) e il World Monuments Fund (WMF), presso il complesso monumentale di Qusayr ‘Amra in Giordania, risalente all’epoca dei califfi della dinastia Omayyade (VIII secolo d.C.) e inserito dal 1985 nella lista del Patrimonio Mondiale Unesco e dal 2008 tra i cento siti a rischio del WMF.
Il team dell’ISCR ha lavorato, in particolare, sui famosi dipinti murali che hanno un’estensione totale di quasi 380 mq, restaurando a oggi circa 100 mq della superficie dipinta.
